Dave analyzes footage on your machine. Video files are read from the volume you point him at and are not uploaded, copied to our servers, or retained by us.
Analysis results — descriptions, tags, detected people, and the metadata Dave writes — are stored in a local library on your computer alongside your media.
To run your licence and support the application, we receive:
We do not receive your video files, your thumbnails, your filenames, your folder structure, your project context notes, or your People database. None of it is transmitted to us, and none of it is used to train any model.
Facial recognition and People
Dave can recognise people across your footage. The face signatures this relies on are generated and stored locally, and names are only attached when you confirm them.
Your People database never leaves your machine. Deleting a person in Dave removes their signatures from the local library.
Recognising identifiable people may carry legal obligations where you work. You are responsible for having the consent your jurisdiction requires.
This site uses privacy-preserving analytics to count page views and downloads. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share personal information.
Account and billing records are kept while your licence is active and for as long as tax and accounting law requires afterwards. Diagnostics are deleted after 90 days. To close your account and have your records removed, write to privacy@meetdave.app.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Write to privacy@meetdave.app and we will respond within 30 days.
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will tell account holders by email before the change takes effect. The date above always reflects the current version.
